India’s Oldest National Park

Jim Corbett National Park Established in 1936 as Hailey National Park, Jim Corbett National Park is a flagship project of Indian conservation. Named after legendary hunter-turned-naturalist Jim Corbett, the park spans over 520 sq km across Nainital and Pauri Garhwal districts.

The park offers a rich combination of sal forests, grasslands, river belts, and hills, ranging from 360 to 1,040 meters in elevation. This diverse ecosystem supports:

  • 50+ species of mammals (including tigers, leopards, elephants, and deer)
  • 580+ species of birds (including hornbills, vultures, and migratory species)
  • 25 species of reptiles
  • 110+ species of trees
